Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, taking a short break in Dubai after her recent Australian Open women's doubles crown along with Martina Hingis of Switzerland, was present at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, on Sunday.
She was seen cheering Karachi Kings which her husband Shoaib Malik leads in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
"Glad to be back in Dubai after the Australian leg of the year opening WTA legs and Grand Slam. I am extremely happy to see Shoaib (Malik) so fully involved with the PSL event and in particular with the limited overs version which by themselves are demanding," Sania said while speaking to the broadcast media, Sunday afternoon during the Karachi Kings-Islamabad United PSL fixture.
"And, I am so very happy to be back in Dubai, watching Shoaib trying to inspire Karachi Kings to a higher level today (Sunday). The important thing is, he continues to enjoy the sport at the highest level and his commitment levels are very high.
"Talking on fitness, well on my side - the feeling is great now - after the Aussie Open triumph, and to keep it at that level will be challenges that have to be met with consistency. Fitness will naturally play a big part. As of now our form is encouraging and the teamwork is getting better with every game."
