Sachin Tendulkar's brother Ajit to train UAE youngsters

Dubai - The agreement formalises the relationship between Ajit Tendulkar and the Ajman Cricket Club and will boost cricket in terms of developing domestic cricket in the country.

Ajit Ramesh Tendulkar, elder brother and an early inspiration to living cricketing legend Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, will train young cricketing talents, including UAE national youths - who want to develop professional skills in the game of cricket - which is fast catching up in popularity.
He has signed an agreement with Dubai-based diversified business conglomerate Khushi Group to partner with Ajman Cricket Club, which is setting up a cricket academy where Ajit Tendulkar will train youngsters, a Press release said. The move will help to strengthen the UAE's position as a global sporting and cricketing hub which holds Test, One-Day Internationals and T20 matches between Test-playing nations as a neutral venue.
Ajit Tendulkar was the early inspiration of Sachin Tendulkar who played a significant role in Sachin's career giving him inspiration and courage in his childhood. The most important thing is that Ajit took Sachin to Ramakant Achrekar, the childhood coach of Sachin Tendulkar, when Sachin was 11 and had no experience of playing with cricket ball - that changed the course of Sachin's life.
"I am happy to partner with Khushi Group and Ajman Cricket Club which is developing a cricket academy and that will allow me to lend my expertise and share my insights into the game to help train local talents," Ajit Tendulkar, a former cricketer, said after signing the agreement with Khushi Group.
Ajman Cricket Club is developing an international standard cricket ground with club facilities and a state-of-the-art cricket academy near Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, behind Emirates City. The facility is co-owned by a group of businessmen including I.P. Khaitan, Kamal Hussain, Ashok Puri and Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk.
Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of Mulk Holdings, Member of Emirates Cricket Board and Secretary General of Ajman Cricket Council, stated, "The world-class facility that we are building is well connected through highways and will create a hub for cricket training in the UAE. Cricket is the fastest growing sports in the UAE. We want to help nurture its growth with proper infrastructure and facilities."

The UAE remains an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has now attained One-Day International status.
ICC has its headquarters in the UAE, where cricket is fast becoming a popular sport, due to the presence of a large number of expatriate population from four Test-paying countries in South Asia, England, Australia, and South Africa.
"The agreement between Khushi Group and Ajit Tendulkar will see the development of a world-class cricket academy and training facility that will help promote cricket and develop domestic cricket in the UAE," Shaikh Mohammed Sharif, Chairman of Khushi Group, said.
"This is the beginning of an exciting new journey for Khushi Group, which has grown in the UAE and the new initiative reflects our corporate social responsibility and strong commitment to the UAE society.
"The cricket academy will eventually have facilities to sponsor visas and accommodation to international students so that UAE could become a global hub for cricket where international tournaments, Test matches, One-Day Internationals and T20 matches are being played as a neutral destination," Sharif says. "Our academy will reinforce the UAE's position in the global cricket map."
