Al Ahli Club met Abu Dhabi's EFF on their home turf. Whilst both teams had squads capable of taking home three points, it was EFF's determination in the second half that led them to take the victory 2-1.
EFF opened the first half on the defensive by setting up off-side traps to stifle the Al Ahli striking force. Al Ahli's experience shone through with four solid attempts on goal with the fifth eventually breaking free when, in the 25th minute, Daoud Mohammed broke free to rocket a piercing shot into the back of the EFF net.
With Al Ahli dominating the first half, it seemed like the match had already been decided, but true to EFF's reputation, they came back revitalised in the second half.
They placed waves of pressure onto the Al Ahli goalkeeper which resulted with a goal by Taha Rabie five minutes into the second half followed swiftly with an own-goal by Al Ahli's.
A mere four minutes later, EFF's goalkeeper received a red card. With no more substitutions available for EFF, one of their defenders, took the gloves and was faced with his greatest challenge as a penalty was awarded to Al Ahli moments later. What seemed like a set goal for Al Ahli minutes before the final whistle which would have taken them to a 2-2 draw, was dramatically saved by man-of-the-match Mohamed Attar for a final score of 2-1 to EFF.
In other matches, earlier in the week Al Ahli Club tied against TFA 3-3. However, TFA took the points in their match against Legends of Kalba with a 7-1 win. PSG met FCBEscola on Saturday and played a solid match taking the win 6-1. du LaLiga HPC met Emirates Club in Ras Al Khaimah taking the lead early on with a goal by Ramy Hatem two minutes into the game and a super hat-trick by Ahmed El Yamani in the second half to take the win 8-2. EFF comfortably earned another 3 points in their match against Elite with a 4-1 win.
