Luis Antonio Jimenez said that he felt at home with Al Nasr and was aiming to win the League with his new club.
The attacking midfielder made the switch to the Blue Wave after four trophy-laden seasons with Al Ahli. The Chilean-Palestinian joined Al Nasr on a two-year deal in the summer and replaced Australian Brett Holman, who moved to Emirates.
Jimenez won four titles with Al Ahli - the President's Cup in 2013, the Arabian Gulf League and the Arabian Gulf League in the 2013-14 season as well as the Arabian Gulf Super Cup in 2014.
Al Nasr notched a Cup double last season, winning the Arabian Gulf Cup and the prestigious President's Cup. But the Arabian Gulf League has remained elusive for the Blue Wave.
They have won the League thrice with the last one coming way back in the 1985-86 season. Al Nasr are yet to win in the professional era. They finished fifth last season.
"I'm happy because I know the club and I have a very nice impression of the club. They are a very serious club and they are hungry. I like that. I also know a lot of players so I feel at home. After four years in the League, it is nice to continue with another club. I want to win with another club. It is not easy but I think I can do something," said Jimenez.
Al Nasr ended last season with a trophy and could have started this season with one, but were bested by a superior Al Ain in the Arabian Gulf Super Cup at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium. Nevertheless, Jimenez said they will give their best to land the League.
"We have to do our best. I cannot say now that we can win the League. I can say that we will try to take the League. Last year, Al Nasr won two trophies last season. We are a good team and we have the obligation to try something more," the 31-year-old said.
Jimenez said that the late arrivals of Brazilian Nilmar as well as Jonathan Pitroipa meant that they couldn't prepare well for the season-opener.
"We didn't have few players for training. Pitroipa arrived just a few days ago, Nilmar as well. So, it was difficult. But I feel we were in the game once we made it 1-1. But in football we have to be in the game all through. We are a young team and we have lot of margin for improvement," he said.
Nilmar joined from Brazilian side Internacional, while Pitroipa made the move from AGL rivals Al Jazira.
