DPS Sharjah storm into IBSL semifinals

DPS-Sharjah defeated Earnest Eagles 52-45 to top the women's division league of the Berry Hills 11th Indian Basketball League Tournament.
At half time DPS led 27-22 with Dyutika, who had a match score of 38 points, hitting top form. Neethu Maria top scored for Earnest Eagles with 16 points.
In the men's division, Beatrice and Imperial Knights topped their pools to enter the semifinals. Imperial Knights defeated Sata Titans 79-46 and Beatrice defeated Hustlers 78-60 in their last league round matches.
Blue Rhine Eagles and ANF All Stars also reached the last four stage from their respective pools. Blue Rhine Eagles defeated City Fives 76-49;  ANF All Stars defeated Hoopers 65-53; Hoopers defeated Pond Parkers 58-47 and Pond Parkers shocked ANF All Stars 68-65. ANF All Stars qualified for the semifinals with a better score difference.
In the well contested under 19 Inter School Boys' division semifinals DPS-Dubai beat Emirates National School, Sharjah 66-60 and Our Own High School-Al Warqa shocked DPS-Sharjah in extra time 62-56.
DPS-Dubai led 32-28 at half time and both sides were tied at the end of the third quarter (45-45). DPS scored 21 against 15 in the last quarter. Ishan Shoukath top scored for DPS-Dubai with 32 points. Kirk 18 and Hafees 16 were the main scorers for ENs-Sharjah.
DPS-Sharjah led 22-21 against Our Own in the first half. At the end of the third quarter DPS led 39-35 and both teams were locked on 49-49 at full time. During the extra period Our Own Warqa scored 13-7 to reach the finals. Renson Cresta top scored for the winners with 39 points. Jaison Johny netted 23 for DPS Sharjah.
