Simba Sports Club on Sunday were crowned Tanzanian league champions for the third straight season only a week after the restart of the championship.
The Dar es Salaam-based side drew 0-0 at Tanzania Prisons in the Southern town of Mbeya to open a 19-point lead over nearest rivals Young Africans with only six matches left.
Tanzania became the first African nation to restart its football league, which was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Simba won 25 of their 32 matches, with three losses and four draws in their march to the title.
They will make a return to the African Champions League where they reached their quarter-finals in the 2018-2019 season.
Simba will face domestic Cup holders Azam in the quarter-finals on July 1. The Cup winners will qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
