After Pakistan made hay under the searing sun of Abu Dhabi over two days, it was England's turn to inflict the same on the hosts on the third day of the first Test in Abu Dhabi.
Imran Khan said it was a hard day for the bowlers but added that they finished the day in a good way. England ended the day on 290 for three.
"It was a slow pitch and I was bowling wicket to wicket. We also missed a couple of chances and some catches went down. But then, we did manage to contain them," Imran said at the end of the day. "This is what Test matches are all about (toiling hard). But we have to work hard on such pitches. This is our job," he added.
Imran made his Test debut against Australia in Dubai last year and so far has 15 wickets in six matches. And the 28-year-old was looking forward to carrying on and helping Pakistan.
"Mushtaq Ahmed and Waqar Younis are working on me. It is a new start for me and I hope I can carry on doing well and help Pakistan," said he, who is named after Pakistan's legendary World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan. He also revealed that he has been working on his bowling at the National Cricket Academy in Peshawar. "I have been working on my bowling and been working on my length at the NCA in Peshawar. I hope to improve my bowling," said Imran.
Meanwhile, England No.3 Ian Bell was full of praise for his captain Alastair Cook and termed it a "master class."
"He is so organized. When I watch him against spin, his defence is incredible, really. The angles that he works with on in the nets and the way he executed the sweep short today is as well as I have ever seen in through the days of his Test cricket. For the left-handers, the rough out there can be tricky and the innings today was a master class," said Bell.
