A 70-year-old passenger passed away on a Mumbai-Amritsar SpiceJet flight after his denture and lower jaw got dislodged mid-air. His dentures got stuck in the back of his throat, blocking his windpipe.
The Hindustan Times reports that the flight with 176 passengers was diverted to Delhi for a medical emergency but the passenger couldn't survive.
The newspaper quoted the medical officer saying the patient's tongue had turned blue and his heart had already stopped by the time he was brought to the hospital. CPR was performed on the patient for an hour but that didn't revive him.
