Skybridge Freight Solutions showed great discipline as they defeated Al Futtaim Honda to clinch the 8th Invitation Premier T20 League organised by the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Skybridge Freight Solutions openers Kashif Ahmed and Naveed Mohsin provided a strong start.
Ahmed scored 28 off 16 balls including five boundaries before he was run out. Fawad Jalil who joined Mohsin also scored a quick 19-ball 26 containing three fours. Mohsin managed to reach an impressive half century before getting out on 68 from 46 balls supported by six hits to the fence and three over it.
Omer Khan chipped in with an unbeaten 29 off only 16 balls laced with nine boundaries while Sageer Afridi hit 15 off 12 deliveries as Skybridge Freight Solutions amassed 205 for five in 20 overs.
Chasing an imposing target, Arun Alex spearheaded Al Futtaim Honda's chase as he smashed a superb 60 from only 35 balls peppered with three fours and four sixes to give his team a brilliant start. Bilal Khalid gave him company with a patient 26-ball 24 with the help of two fours.
But a few wickets fell and that slowed down the progress as Al Futtaim Honda could manage 178 for six in 20 overs.
Habib Ullah, Waqas Muqbil and Omer Khan all claimed two wickets each.
