I have got a really bad tan on my face since I moved to Dubai a year ago. Can you please recommend a natural face wash for daily use to remove the tan?
- Saga
Take one tsp aloe vera gel, add three drops lime juice to it, and massage this onto the skin. Leave overnight, every night. Done everyday, this will lighten and brighten your skin tone.
My skin is clear but I have a dull, sallow complexion. Can you recommend a face pack for a natural, healthy glow?
- Manisha
Take one tsp yoghurt, one tsp honey and add half a tsp sugar. Beat well and apply this on your face. Scrub off after an hour. Do this twice or thrice a week for best results.
I am a regular reader of your column and love your home remedies. I am 13 years old and have very weak and thin hair. I also suffer from dandruff and hair fall, and have pimples on my face. Please suggest remedies for me.

Hair fall and dandruff can be reduced by adding nine drops of tea tree oil to a small cup of water, and using it for the final wash of your hair after shampooing it. Massage this into your scalp and also wash your face with this. Leave to dry, on both face and scalp. For the pimples, mix two drops of tea tree oil and one drop of rose water on your palm. Pat this on the pimples and on your face, especially around the hairline area. Leave overnight. Do this everyday.
I've been suffering from severe acne and pimple problems for the last three years. I've tried many remedies and have consulted dermatologists, but nothing seems to work. Please suggest a remedy for my problem.
- Maria
Take half a tsp cinnamon powder and add enough honey to make a smooth paste, then and add a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply this on the affected area every day, leaving it on for at least an hour. Rinse with cold water. Avoid consuming spicy, oily foods and drink a minimum of 10 glasses of water every day.
My hair is very curly. I have no wish to straighten it, but it does get super frizzy after I shampoo it. Any natural remedies to tame my mane?
- Srilatha
Using a rich, nourishing mask will help. Take one egg yolk, two tsps honey, one tsp lemon juice, and one tbsp olive oil. Beat all these together to make a creamy paste, and apply onto your hair. Shampoo off an hour later, and avoid using conditioner afterwards. Do this thrice a week for good results.
