The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will provide all facilities to the Iranian pilgrims, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Ahmed Al Jubeir said on Thursday.
The statement by Saudi minister, the second one this month, stressed that the Iranian pilgrims are still welcome to visit the holy places in the kingdom, be it for Haj or Umrah, despite Riyadh severing ties with Tehran.
Earlier statistics show that the number of the Iranian pilgrims who performed Haj every year stood at 72,000, said Al Jubeir while addressing a Press conference with his German counterpart Frank Walter-Steinmeier in the Saudi capital on Thursday.
He said that the tension be-tween Riyadh and Tehran was due to Iran's hostile policies. "Islam is the religion of tolerance, love and forbearance, and what the terror group Daesh is doing has nothing to do with the religion (Islam)", he said.
Regarding the Syrian talks, Al Jubeir said the Syrian government delegation in Geneva talks was not serious. He lashed out at Russia for intensifying its military operations in support of the Syrian president Bashaar Al Assad.
