UAE welcomes release of Qatari, Saudi hostages in Iraq

The United Arab Emirates welcomed the release of the abducted Qatari and Saudi citizens after a long period in captivity in Iraq.
In a statement made today, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, conveyed greetings to the leadership and people of the brotherly State of Qatar.
He described the abduction of Qatari and Saudi citizens as an uncalled for act, adding that the ordeal they went through was a reflection of the looming tension in the region.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation congratulates the brotherly State of Qatar and expresses relief that their ordeal is over,"he added.
"The terrorism in the region feeds on chaos and instability," he said.
He called for rallying international efforts to stand against terrorism and to eliminate its roots.
