The door is now open for young girls in Dubai to register in the Holy Quran Award of the Princess Haya Islamic cultural centres in the Umm Al Shief and Al Mezhar branches.

The annual contest is part of the activities of the 6th Ramadan Forum organised by the department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai under the theme ‘Wherein the Quran is revealed’. “Registration is open in the four-category Quran memorisation competition till July 17,” said Hamda Al Muhairi, acting Director of the Princess Haya Islamic cultural centres.

“Contestants may compete in one of four categories: the Holy Quran in full (30 parts), 20 parts, 10 parts or five parts,” she added. Al Muhairi said the contest is aimed to develop religious awareness among all segments of the society, and attach them to the Holy Quran via memorisation, true and authentic comprehension, apart from other sciences related to the study of the Holy Quran.

“The award has gained grounds among the Quran study centres, social bodies, individuals and parents who show exceptional interest to encourage their children for participation.”
