Crowds of people flocked to the Rashid bin Mohammed Gathering to listen to an inspiring lecture by popular Saudi scholar Sheikh Saleh Al Maghamsi who enlightened the audience about verses from the holy Quran.
Over 3,000 worshippers, who attended the lecture, had performed the Taraweeh Prayers at the Rashidiya Grand Mosque behind the renowned Emirati imam Ahmed Musa Al Balochi, who is widely known for his beautiful recitation.
The much-awaited Taraweeh Prayers and lecture are part of the milestone forum which is annually organised by the department of Islamic Affairs and Activities in Dubai.

Official records show that up to 31 imams - famous for their beautiful Quran recitation - are to lead the Taraweeh Prayers in eight grand mosques across Dubai this year.
On top of these are Sh. Saad Al Ghamidi, Adel Al Rayan, Abdulazizi Al Zahrani, Abdulwali Al Arkani, Ahmed Al Nafees, Fahid Al Mutairi, along with other Emirati and expatriate imams.
In his lecture, Sheikh Al Maghamsi explained some verses from the holy Quran, and enlightened the public about the reasons behind their revelation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He also talked about the holy city of Madinah, its advantages, and the benefit of visiting it. "It is an honour to visit and stay in Madinah which Prophet Muhammad has always praised and prayed for," he said.
Dr Hamad Al Shaibani, director general of the department of Islamic affairs and charitable activities in Dubai, said the department is to secure 330,000 free Iftar meals to 2.5 million fasting people at 127 tents during the holy month of Ramadan.
These premier activities and many others are part of the second edition of the Rashid bin Mohammed Ramadan Gathering which is meant to develop religious awareness and promote the tolerant teachings of Islam."
Jassim Al Khazraji, head of the Ramadan activities committee, said they have installed a big and fully equipped tent for women next to the Grand Rashidiya mosque. "This will accommodate up to 3,000 worshipers."
