"Ramadan at Universal" was launched at Universal Hospital on Sunday, as part of the hospital's initiatives that aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle during Ramadan. The campaign will include an exclusive and comprehensive health check-up and Ramadan nutritional information.
From May 29 and until the end of Ramadan, the campaign will revolve around the general health in Ramadan focusing on eating habits, exercise, good sleep, and how to avoid stress and other harmful habits. Considered by many, the Holy Month of Ramadan is always an opportunity to start a healthy physical and spiritual life.
Dr Shabeer Nellikode, Managing Director at Universal Hospital, said: "We are dedicated to meet the needs of our patients in the best way, where through this work we are giving back to the community and providing an easy way of living healthy and safe while also limiting the risks of diseases, and the mission of our medical team is not only to cure the disease, but also to work hand in hand to add more value to make health care more Universal."
Dr Ahmed Al Kalla, Director of Global Operations at Universal Hospital, said: "Improved awareness and outcomes are not delivered by health care providers alone, community and the public are what we call co-producers of health, and they play a critical role in identifying their own needs and preferences."
Hamad AlHosani, Group Chief Operating Officer at Universal Hospital, said: "We are pleased to announce the partnership with Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center and the UAE Red Crescent to organise Ramadan Health Campaigns in the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center Iftar Tents and the UAE Red Crescent Iftar Tents available in different locations across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi."
The hospital also unveiled four masterpieces that will be exhibited at auction for a worthy cause; all collected funds will be donated to non-profit organisations that serve the community and children welfare.
In addition to that, the hospital also announced a mega challenge to encourage people to maintain a healthy weight. Participants should register his or her name and lose 15 kilograms by Eid Al Fitr, to have the chance to win a prize of Dh 50,000.
