Maria Tullberg, general manager Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek, has won the Hotelier Middle East's "GM of the Year" award for 2016.
Since joining the hotel in 2015, Swedish national Maria has made significant strides in both operations and customer service. An experienced and talented hotelier, Maria successfully accelerated the delivery of renovation projects including the much-anticipated Emirati cuisine restaurant - Aseelah. She has also successfully re-launched the largest outdoor pool deck. Maria is also leading Carlson Rezidor's Balanced Leadership Programme in the UAE that actively encourages more women to hold senior management positions within organisations. She recently spoke about Balanced Leadership at the Hotelier Middle East GMs summit and has already gained much positive publicity for one of the Group's main social commitments.
In addition, Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek, bagged more awards, from Caterer Middle East, Leaders in F&B Awards. Aldert Van Zyl, Director of F&D was named the Leading F&B Director of the Year and the new stylish Emirati restaurant Aseelah won the "Best Interior" award.
