The victim's brother, 21, also sustained serious injuries in the same accident, according to Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of the Central Operations room, RAK police.
The central operations room of the RAK Police immediately dispatched traffic police, paramedics and rescue teams to the site after being alerted of the collision.
First Lieutenant Ibrahim Saif Al Mazrouie, Manager of Traffic and Patrols branch at the Daqdaqa police station, late on Thursday said the accident took place at 1.20am today.
"Traffic enactment of the collision, involving a car and truck, showed that the mishap was due to a burst tyre of the victim's car, following which he lost control over the steering wheel, veered off the road, and rammed into a truck ahead.
"The 19-year-old died on the spot while his injured brother was rushed to Saqr hospital for treatment and medical care.
"His body was shifted to the morgue for burial by relatives, while the accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal procedures."
Brig. Humaidi urged all drivers to observe traffic rules and regulations to ensure road users' safety and theirs.
