Dubai's lifestyle has always been about thinking out of the box. So, how do you offer customers a WOW factor, time and again? A bunch of enterprising folks around town have come up with the concept of customised packages - catering to all "sectors" of lifestyle wants, needs and desires: beauty, fashion, food, books, art - delivered to your doorstep. All you need to do is subscribe to these goodie boxes, or send them over as a gift to a special someone. Open the box, and discover contents inside that have been curated keeping in mind your personality - and, of course, taste for good things.
And be thrilled - and then post the 'unboxing experience' on social media! "Convenience, luxury, and the surprise element are all parts of this experience," says Matthieu Guinard, CEO of Glambox Middle East; Glambox delivers a skincare/makeup package containing four to five products and discount vouchers to its customers every month.
Chirin Khawatmi has started Mama's Box, which caters specifically to new mums. "Motherhood can be overwhelming - so we just want to be there to support mums through this time," she says.
Ink Crate is a monthly box that, among other 'bookish' items, also contains one surprise book. Fruit Box delivers a supply of healthy fruits to offices so that health is never compromised in the name of the rat race.
