An 11-year-old boy, who went missing on Tuesday, was found dead on the rooftop of his building in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday.
According to his relatives, Azan Majid had gone to nearby mosque for prayers.
"He was a nice boy. His body was recovered from rooftop. We don't' know the reason. Police investigation is going on," a relative said.
Azan's father Majid is inconsolable after the loss. Friends and relatives offer a pillar of support to Majid, who works at a medical insurance firm.
One of his colleagues said: "This is a sad and shocking incident. I am here to support Majid."
The Abu Dhabi police said they were investigating the case.
A relative added: "Funeral will take some time. Police need to complete the investigation."
The family stays at the top floor of a building in Muroor Road.
Neighbours in the building are in a state of shock.
"We also have children. We don't know how to react. I can't recollect anything like this happening here," a neighbour said.
Shopkeepers in the area said the locality is a safe place and such incidents are rare.
"Such things are unheard of in this area," one shopkeeper said.
