The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence General Directorate, General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the Lulu Group International have signed an agreement to furnish Abu Dhabi mosques with fire extinguishers.
The agreement was signed by Major-General Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouki, general commander of civil defence; Dr Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments; and Yusufali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group International, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi.
Major-General Al Marzouki stressed that the agreement came in response to the call of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to mark 2017 as the 'Year of Giving' and to consolidate the social responsibility concept within the private sector and to encourage them to assume their role in serving the nation and contribute to its development march.
Dr Al Kaabi expressed his deep appreciation for the civil defence for launching this initiative and coordinating with the private sector to highlight the Year of Giving. He said it reflects the prudent vision of "our leadership in instilling safety, security and happiness among all segments of society and its institutions".
