GEMS students in UAE achieve outstanding  exam results

Students from GEMS Education's International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum schools in the UAE have scored outstanding results in the 2017 exams as they continue to raise the bar of academic excellence.
A total of 387 students from GEMS World Academy, Dubai, GEMS Wellington Academy - Silicon Oasis, Dubai American Academy, GEMS Wellington International School, GEMS Modern Academy and GEMS American Academy, Abu Dhabi, achieved their IB Diploma, which marks a 20 per cent increase from 2016 in the number of students receiving their diplomas.
Performance continues to exceed international benchmarks.  The international pass rate in 2016, was 79 per cent, the pass rate achieved by GEMS Education's IB students this year hit 91 per cent.
Many students from GEMS schools exceeded an average score of 40 (out of a maximum of 45). The top three achievers - Alexandra Haines from Dubai American Academy, Audrey Cordelle from GEMS World Academy, Dubai and Ivan Szergyuk from GEMS Wellington International School, all secured an impressive 44.
Congratulating students on their achievement, James MacDonald, Vice President Education (US & IB Curriculum Schools), GEMS Education, said: "We are very proud of this year's cohort of IBDP students and their results.  Thanks to rigour of the IB curriculum and our wonderful GEMS educators, our graduates are extremely well prepared for their next steps in life, which includes attending some of the world's highest rated universities.
