The Police Eye service of the Dubai Police smart application has received complaints about 1,430 illegal practices during 2016, an official has revealed.
The Police Eye service was launched by the General Directorate of Smart Services at the Dubai Police in 2016 to allow community members in helping the police to maintain security and reducing crimes. Through the interactive service, the public can report any illegal activity to the police, anonymously.
Brigadier Khaled Al Razzuqi, Director of the General Directorate of Smart Services, said the service was launched on the Dubai Police app to enable community members to report illegal activities. It offers an opportunity for the public to cooperate with the  Dubai Police through smart devices. They can report any irregularities, including anti-social behaviour, drug-related issues or any other criminal activities.
Brigadier Al Razzuqi said the service is very simple and easy to use as users can send text, voice, picture or video messages, and the complainant can even give the location of the incident .
