Winter is officially here. The national met agency, NCMS, has predicted that the temperatures will drastically drop in the next few days leading to December 12.
After two days of dense fog and mist across UAE, the NCMS expects the fog to continue with visibility of less than 500 meters over some coastal and internal areas. Motorists are advised to drive with caution as strong winds carrying dust and sand will impact visibility on roads.
Beach goers, be warned, as the sea is likely going to be rough to very rough.
The NCMS issued the following alert:

"Fresh northwesterly wind flow will increase gradually affecting the country starting from Wednesday evening over the western region extending to all the regions during the period from Thursday to Monday, becoming strong at times epecially over the sea, causing blowing dust/sand over the open areas, leading to poor visibility, and sea will be rough to very rough with a significant drop in temperature starting from the western region extending over the coastal and western areas.
The NCMS advises motorists to take precautions on roads due to the expected bad horizontal visiblity due to blowing dust/sand.
The NCMS also warns against rough to very rough sea in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea."

The Dubai Police recorded 107 traffic accidents during foggy weather conditions in the space of five hours on Sunday morning. The police received 1,062 SOS calls from 4am to 9am.
Air traffic was also disrupted at Dubai International Airport earlier this week, with many flights cancelled or delayed.
