The patients of Ras Al Khaimah and nearby emirates have good news with recently opened orthopedics, ENT and ophthalmology clinics at the Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital (SKSH).
The hospital has also purchased advanced testing machines and made its first tests in the labs by using DNA 'genetic series using human genomes', according to Dr. Myung-Whun Sung, CEO of SKSH.
"The Hospital, committed to achieving patients' need also opens new departments, provides modern services, and supports the services of its three excellence centers: cardiovascular, neurology and oncology."
Official figures show that the Hospital received 22,000 patients in the outpatient clinics and emergency department over the first half of the year.
"There is a significant rise in the number of patients at the outpatient clinics and emergency departments since the beginning of the year who amounted to 3,500 to 4,000 on a monthly basis."
The number of patients has enormously increased from 4,300 in Half-1 last year to 13,625 over the same period this year, he added.
"The emergency section opened in the second half of last year has received 8,680 patients this year so far whereas 1,168 patients were hospitalised from January to June this year as compared to 435 last year."
Up to 400 complicated surgeries were operated in the first six months of the year in comparison to 100 in the same time last year, he pointed out. "This significant rise is basically due to the high standards adopted in the Hospital."
