Dubai - The Dubai Police have launched 15 electronic pay devices in police patrols to enable offenders to pay their fines immediately by using credit or debit cards.

A smart crime prediction system, a robot that can read and record signatures in transactions and electronic pay devices that enable payment of fines through credit or debit cards on the spot of the violations are a few among the 18 smart services launched by the Dubai Police at Gitex 2016.

At its pavilion at Gitex, Lt.-Gen. Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, announced that the launch of these new smart services would serve the police's strategy in promoting security, crime reduction and prevention and detection and arrest of perpetrators. "Some of the smart services launched here are being used for the first time, in a bid to preserve the security, which requires innovative ideas transformed into a smart system," he said.

Brigadier Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Smart Services at the Dubai Police, said that the adoption of the robot is the first system of its kind in the world. Through this system, a person can do transactions with the Dubai Police from anywhere in the world using smart signing on any smart device touchscreen. The audio, video as well as the location of the user could be recorded and the police can return to this information whenever it is required.

Another smart service is a virtual assistant that allows customers to communicate with the police without any human intervention. The smart personal assistant for iOS, Siri, is linked to the virtual assistant and it can receives commands and observations immediately without the need to log in to the application, Brig. Al Razooqi elaborated.
The Dubai Police have also introduced the smart officer service, which can draw accidents and review traffic violations by recording them on video.

Touch of a Button service, launched at the Gitex could be used to issue documents and certificates needed by companies.
In cooperation with Nissan, the police introduced an SOS system that can work automatically in 'Nissan Patrol' vehicles and send distress signals automatically when the car involve in crash.
