The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the 'Smart Renewal' of vehicle registration for companies through the RTA website. The step has been taken as part of the continuous efforts of the RTA in support of the Smart City initiative of the Dubai Government aimed at ranking Dubai as the smartest city in the world.
"The Smart Licensing service is intended to raise customer satisfaction by making procedures easier, and reducing congestion at service centres resulting from the visits of company representatives for renewal of registration of their vehicle fleet," said Sultan Al Marzooki, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA Licensing Agency.
"The service requires the vehicle to be insured and pass the technical testing, and the company must have an account in the e-purse of the RTA. The service is available online through the RTA website and the customer needs to enter the traffic code of the company, and then select the number plates of vehicles for registration.
The client can renew registration within 90 days before the expiry of vehicle(s) registration, and automatically pay the applicable fees through the company's account in the e-purse. A notification will then be sent confirming that the vehicle(s) is under registration, and the registration card(s) will then be forwarded through the delivery company contracted with the RTA. The registration card(s) can also be collected through RTA Customers Service Centers at Deira Traffic, or Al Barsha.
"The Licensing Agency is making huge efforts to achieve the smart transition of its services to fulfil the third strategic objective of the RTA which is Making People Happier. Achieving customers' satisfaction has become the backbone of our plans to provide smart services that save much of the time and effort of the public," added Al Marzooki.
