The wife and daughters of Dominic Stanislaus, who passed away on January 18 and whose body had been lying in a hospital in Sharjah for want of funds, can finally heave a sigh of relief.
UAE authorities, Indian Consulate, Indian Association Sharjah as well as scores of Khaleej Times readers came forward to help the distressed family right from the time KT published the news of Dominic's death and the family's misfortune last week.
With all approvals sought and the hospital bills settled, Dominic will finally be buried on Thursday, February 1, says Marilyn Stanislaus, wife of the deceased.
Thanking the Khaleej Times team, she said: "My family and I would like to thank the Khaleej Times team for the timely support and right channel of help you have provided."
The story first appeared on January 26, 2017, in Khaleej Times, and our readers have continued to enquire about the wellbeing of the family.
"I have finally received all approvals to proceed with my husband's funeral as per Sharjah Municipality's regulations," she said. She thanked the Government of the UAE, the Indian Consulate as well as the Indian Association Sharjah, in addition to Khaleej Times readers, for helping in the release of the body from Kuwait hospital.
The family had been trying to get the body from a Sharjah hospital where Dominic died almost a fortnight ago. "We have got all the moral and material support from within the UAE, thanks to Khaleej Times," she added.
