The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Sharjah has built 95 new parking spaces at the Basirah mosque, Al Saga area.
The new parking spaces are an added value for the worshippers at the major mosque there, according to Eng. Fatima Al Ketbi, deputy director, roads projects department, RTA Sharjah. "These new parking spaces, internal roads, and necessary service works stand at Dh1.25 million."
The 95 new parking spaces have been built on a total area of 1,600 square meters, she explained.
"These have been connected with a number of internal roads; 234m long and 7m wide."

Walking corridors, 1,000 square meters in area, have also been built around the mosque, she disclosed.

"A rainwater drainage network has also been established, added to an integrated lighting network, and service works."
The parking project is in line with the directions of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, she added.
"The project is meant to enhance worshipers' convenience and curb congestion and random parking opposite and around the mosque."
The new parking spaces will boost traffic flow, and put an end to car congestion at the mosque, she underlined.
"Such crowded and haphazard way of parking used to tarnish the image of the city."

She said that RTA Sharjah is more than ready to respond to customers' feedbacks and complaints.
"RTA Sharjah Call Centre is reachable 24/7 at (600525252) for feedbacks, inquiries, remarks and complaints."
