A 26-year-old Indian died on the spot on Saturday evening after he was run over by a speeding car on the Mleiha-Al Dhaid Road.
The police received a call at the operations room about the accident and the nearest patrol and ambulance reached the site in record time, but the man had already died on the spot.
The police said the deceased who worked in the petrol station had told his co-worker that he was going for prayer. He was hit by a speeding car while trying to cross the road. The accident caused severe damage to the skull along with internal bleeding, which led to his death.
The deceased was shifted to Al Dhaid Hospital morgue and the case was referred to Central Area police station for investigation.
