22-year-old maid falls to death from 19th floor in Sharjah

Sharjah - The case is under investigation by police.

A maid fell to her death from the 19th floor of a residential building in Sharjah on Tuesday. Investigations are still underway to determine the circumstances and causes of the fall.

Construction workers found the body in a pool of blood and immediately informed the police.

The family that employed the maid told the police that the maid may have fallen as she cleaned the kitchen of their flat in the building near Al Qasba. Colonel Abdul Latif Ibrahim Al Ghroubti, director of Al Buhaira Police Station, said: "On Tuesday at 4.30pm, we received a report from the central operations room that a body had been found under a building in Al Khan area. Immediately, a team of patrols, forensic experts, paramedics and an investigator from Al Buhaira Police Station was sent to the site."

The Sharjah public prosecutor has ordered that the body be transferred to the forensic laboratory for further examination.
