Heavy rain causes landslides in Ras Al Khaimah

Heavy rain in the UAE on Saturday has caused landslides along the Tawain road of Ras Al Khaimah, Khaleej Times has learnt.
While the side of the road has caved in, the main road is intact and the movement of traffic is normal.
So far, there are no reports of landslides in any other part of the Ras Al Khaimah.
Meanwhile, the department of public works of the Ras Al Khaimah has created a special team to deal with the aftermath of Saturday's rainfall. The Ras Al Khaimah Police has pressed into action  80 traffic petrol for any emergencies resulting from the unstable weather.
Heavy rain and thunderstorm lashed parts of the UAE on Saturday. NCMS reported heavy rain over Jais mountain and in WAM city in Dibba, Al Fujairah.
The weather department has sounded the alarm and asked residents to be cautious while out near the sea."It is not advisable to go swimming or venture out to the mountains till Monday. The weather conditions are very unstable and we are closely monitoring the situation," said a forecaster.
