Upon notification of the alleged leaking of the mid-semester papers, the ministry created a committee, comprising education officials, to investigate the matter.
In a statement to Khaleej Times on Wednesday it confirmed the news: "The ministry has been informed of a case of leaked exams in a school in Ras Al Khaimah. It will take all necessary measures required to resolve the issue through all means necessary."
According to the statement, the leadership of the ministry is being kept "updated on the developments of this issue".
Though the name of the school has not been released, a source confirmed to Khaleej Times that the leak was uncovered after students were found circulating the exam questions on a mobile messaging application.
A series of precautionary measures have also been enforced, including new distribution systems with added security measures to prevent and similar cases; and the initiation of disciplinary measures to the individuals involved in the matter.
"The committee is still investigating, so this issue has not yet been fully concluded," it read.
This is not the first time such news has made the headlines in the UAE.
In 2012 three students of Dubai Modern High School hacked into their teacher's computer and obtained question papers for the second term examinations.
And in 2015. a university worker was sentenced to six months in jail after leaking 15 examination papers to a student for Dh7,500.
