RAS AL KHAIMAH — All one-way roads of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah will soon be made two-way with middle islands and barriers.
The scheme, according to a senior official, is aimed at enhancing traffic flow and safety.
“We have already started the mega project to build lanes in either direction on all internal roads of the emirate,” said Abdullah Yusuf Al Abdullah, Chairman of the Public Works and Services department in Ras Al Khaimah.
Elaborating, Al Abdullah said part of the road at Al Bariyat area, which connects the High Technology College for Men with the Sager Hospital, has been completed.
“The rest of the roads will be finished later in the next phase whereas all the other one-way roads will be built soon,” he said. The project will significantly reduce traffic violations and accidents, he added.
