UAE tops global list for public trust in government: Report

The UAE has ranked first in the world in public trust in government, according to the report published by the New York-based Edelman Trust Barometer for this year.
"I'm very happy again that the UAE has secured the first place worldwide in public trust in the government," His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on his Twitter page on Tuesday.

Shaikh Mohammed said the trust was built by late Shaikh Zayed and his brothers, and today it is being taken care of by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Rulers and the government.
"The home is united. our hearts are united.. and our vision is one. May Almighty preserve the UAE and its people," Shaikh Mohammed said. The UAE has recorded a conspicuous position in the trust barometer released in a report by Edelman Company every year.
Trustworthiness of governments

> China second with79 points.
> Singapore third with 74 points.
As per the report Edelman Trust released, the UAE has ranked first in the world in public trust in government gaining 80 points, followed by China second with79 points, then Singapore third 74 points.
However, some EU countries failed to achieve higher position but remained below receiving points ranged between 40-50 like France, Britain, and even Sweden.
The UAE ranked second gaining 66 points in the trust indicator in the government and public institutions. It outdid Germany, which gained 42 points and topped also the global average determined at 50 points.
For the trust index in companies and businesses, the UAE gained 67 points in 2016 advancing over the US and Japan, compared to 65 points it achieved in 2015 ranking.
