His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, met in the Executive Office this afternoon with President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his accompanying delegation.
They discussed relations and joint co-operation between the UAE and Egypt.
While welcoming President El Sisi in the presence of HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Mohammed said, "A strong Egypt is the support for all Arabs. The UAE-Egyptian relations are not usual diplomatic relations, but are relations based on love, fraternity and partnership established by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and being sustained by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers."
"Today, this brotherhood is being reinforced by a well-established relationship between the two governments and mutual interests between the two brotherly peoples," he added.
Shaikh Mohammed said that Egypt and its people and leadership were and still partners of the UAE, citing co-operation in the areas of education, culture, economy as well as government, and added that the relationship built by the UAE and Egypt represents the model Arab relations as sought by Sheikh Zayed and the two brotherly peoples.
The Dubai Ruler also asserted the importance of diversifying and expanding the scope of their co-operation in the economic, investment and development aspects.
UAE 2021
He briefed President El Sisi on UAE's vision 2021 and the efforts of the UAE government in strengthening the competitive position of the state across a range of systems, institutions and councils that work as a team to boost the state's competitiveness to promote and develop governance in institutions and all ministries.
Shaikh Mohammed also reviewed the experience of the UAE in the implementation and development of long-term strategies and the development of systems to track performance in all ministries and federal bodies, and also work on developing a new generation of government leaders as well as software to develop experts and specialists in quality and innovation in the public sector areas.
He also referred to the UAE's smart government experience, the plan and programmes adopted to transform traditional government services to be available via smart phones to clients through the use of modern technology systems.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region, and exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.
Shaikh Mohammed expressed his optimism about the successes of the new Egyptian leadership to achieve development and prosperity and a new phase in which Egypt will continue the process of rebuilding, progress and exercise its central role in the region. He wished the best for Egypt to enjoy security, stability and realise all aspirations and hopes of its people.
The meeting was also attended by government officials and dignitaries.
