Pope Francis, Joe Biden praise efforts of UAE in healthcare

Pope Francis has praised the United Arab Emirates and the Sultan bin Khalifa Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation for their efforts in the field of medicine and health at the local and global level.
During a speech at the 3rd World Conference on Regenerative Medicine, held in Rome, the Pope also urged doctors and scientists to give greater attention to patient care and treatment of chronic and rare diseases, and called on them to work together using technology and analysis to find treatments for diseases and tumours.
The conference was attended by a delegation from the Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundations, led by Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed.
Also present was US Vice President, Joe Biden, who praised the UAE for its rapid development and desire to progress humanity, both of which he said that he witnessed first-hand on a recent visit, when he met His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Dr. Shaikh Sultan met both Pope Francis and Joe Biden during the conference, which was held from April 28th to 30th. Dr. Shaikh Sultan expressed his gratitude for their kind words and hailed the conference a success.
