General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received Britain’s Prince Charles (the Prince of Wales), during a short visit to the country.
General Shaikh Mohammed welcomed Prince Charles and exchanged cordial talks with him on the friendship and co-operation between the UAE and the United Kingdom UK and ways to strengthen them for the benefit of the two friendly peoples and countries.
During the meeting, Prince Charles was re-assured on the health of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and conveyed best wishes of Elizabeth II Queen of England of good health for him.
They also reviewed the strong historic ties and the shared strategic interests of the two countries as well as the latest developments in the regional and international arenas and other issues of mutual interest.
Prince Charles expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE again, praising the nature of the ties between the two countries.
Prince Charles’ visit comes after less than a year after the state visit of Shaikh Khalifa to the UK in April and May 2013, while Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and her consort, the Duke of Edinburgh, visited the UAE at the invitation of Shaikh Khalifa at the end of 2010.
