World's most expensive cars come to Dubai

Dubai - The event, held on the terrace of the Burj Al Arab, includes an impressive array of classic cars, including a 1913 Clement Bayard, a 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II, a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 and a 1971 Lamborghini Muira SV.

Some of the world's rare, most beautiful - and most expensive - classic cars went on display by the shadows of the Burj Al Arab on Thursday, the opening day of the first ever invite-only 'Gulf Concours'.
The event, held on the terrace of the Burj Al Arab, includes an impressive array of classic cars, including a 1913 Clement Bayard, a 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II, a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 and a 1971 Lamborghini Muira SV.
Additionally, some of the world's finest 'modern bespoke' vehicles are on display, ranging from a 2004 Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR to the '2017 Rolls Royce Dawn Inspired by Fashion'.
"This three-day event is hosted for the Middle East's most discerning collectors and car enthusiasts, and it's going to be something special for those in attendance," said Rory Heron, Managing Director of Thorough Events Singapore, the event owners and organisers. "The world's rarest and most valuable classic and current cars will be on display for this exclusive event."
Awards will be given out today for the best modern bespoke car, with the criteria being that the car be no older than 15 years and have original features that make it distinctive both inside and out.
Tomorrow, awards will be given to the classic cars, which will be judged on their beauty, design, rarity, history, presentation and visual impact.
