Unesco to be guest of honour at book fair

Sharjah - The selection recognises the Unesco's role as a leader in spreading and improving knowledge and education across the world, particularly in countries afflicted by wars, conflict and natural disasters.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) will be the guest of honour at the 35th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF). The SIBF will be held on November 2-12 at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
"By choosing the international organisation as the guest of honour at SIBF 2016, the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) seeks to present influential pioneering models that serve human culture with the aim of motivating youth and paving the way for them to achieve the highest level of cultural undertakings in the Arab world," Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of SBA, said.
