UAE rulers offer Eid Al Adha  prayers, receive greetings

Dubai - Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates, performed Eid Al Adha prayers nationwide on Monday.

Dubai
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Shaikh Rashid Mosque in Zabeel.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, offered prayers along with Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a number of Shaikhs and group of worshippers.
The Imam of the mosque, Al Shaikh Omer Al Khateeb, delivered the Eid sermon, in which he said,
"Eid is a day of compassion and regular exchanges of visits. It consolidates the values of the great Islam bequeathed to us by Almighty Allah."
He noted that a man ascends with his knowledge, morals and good deeds to the homeland and community.
He commended the leadership for "sponsoring talented youth and innovative ideas in all walks of life to make the UAE prosperous and elevate it to a cluster of advanced countries, thanks to the tolerant Islamic course that encourages creative and innovative ideas that benefit the community and world at large."
Al Khateeb reminded Muslims about the importance of sacrificial animals on this day during which Muslims worldwide come closer to Allah and follow the course of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
He wished well to the UAE and good health to the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Shaikh Mohammed. Imam Al Khateeb also prayed to Allah to rest the souls of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Shaikh Rashid, Shaikh Maktoum and the nation's martyrs who fell in the line of performing their national duty in Yemen. He also wished well to the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, and its efforts to achieve final victory and ensure stability for Yemen and the entire region.
Following the prayer, Shaikh Mohammed received well-wishers at the Zabeel Palace.

Abu Dhabi
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed Eid Al Adha prayers on Monday morning at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, along with citizens and expatriates.
Among others who performed prayers along with Mohamed bin Zayed were Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Shaikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative, Shaikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Shaikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Shaikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and a number of Sheikhs.
Senior civil and military officials, Arab and Muslim members of diplomatic corps and a group of worshipers also performed their prayers along with Mohammed bin Zayed.
In his Eid sermon, Al Shaikh Omer Al Daraei said,

"We congratulate you on this Holy day, which Allah has prescribed after the Day of Arafah, to rejoice in charitable actions and increase forgiveness. It is the day of praise to Allah and consolidation of good values, compassion and dissemination of happiness and smiles. It is the day of giving and the elevation of Allah's commandments."
He stressed the importance of sacrificial animals to come closer to Allah in revival of our father Ibrahim's actions, a legacy followed by the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and sustained by the wise leadership of this nation in terms of charity and welfare of people.
Al Daraei prayed to Allah to rest the soul of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in peace. He wished well to the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. He also paid a tribute to parents and relatives of the nation's martyrs, praying to Allah to rest their souls in peace, along with the prophets. Imam Al Daraei also prayed to Allah to bless the Arab coalition who fight for justice to restore stability to sisterly Yemen.
After the prayer, Mohammed bin Zayed visited the tomb of the late Shaikh Zayed, where he read Al Fateh for his soul, praying to Allah to rest his soul in peace.
The cannon was fired by the support unit team in front of the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque amid the jubilation of worshipers on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.


Sharjah
His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, performed Eid prayer at Al Badea Mussala.
The Eid sermon, delivered by Abdullah Al Mushajeri, referred to the virtues of Eid, among others, forgiveness, and consolidation of noble values. After the prayers, the Ruler of Sharjah and the Crown Prince of Sharjah accepted Eid greetings from the worshipers.
Ajman
His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, and Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, performed the Eid prayer at the Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi Mosque.
Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Tourism Development Department, Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Municipality and Planning, Shaikh Saqr bin Rashid Ak Nuaimi, a number of Shaikhs, dignitaries, and representatives of Arab and Muslim communities were also in attendance.
Shaikh Hussein Al Hosani, Director of the Islamic Scientific Institute in Ajman, who led the prayer, said

"On this day, people maximise the rituals of Allah and cheer in thanksgiving and glorification. Allah bless Muslims during this festival, prescribed for after the Day of Arafah, to rejoice in charitable returns and forgiveness."
After the prayer, the Ruler of Ajman exchanged greetings with the Ajman Crown Prince and his sons, as well as with Shaikhs, senior officials and other dignitaries.
Fujairah
His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, performed the Eid prayer at the new Shaikh Zayed Mosque.
Al Shaikh Samir Mohammed said in the Eid sermon that this day reflects noble values and solidarity.
"It is the day on which Muslims come closer to Allah through their sacrifices, following the legacy of our father Ibrahim."
He prayed to Allah to rest the souls of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum in peace. Al Shaikh Samir also wished well to the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the Rulers of the Emirates.
At the end of prayer, the Ruler of Fujairah exchanged greetings with Shaikhs, senior officials and dignitaries.
Umm Al Qaiwain
In Umm Al Qaiwain, His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in UAQ.
Shaikh Humaid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chief of the Emiri Court in UAQ, Shaikhs and dignitaries also performed their prayers along with the Ruler of UAQ.
In the Eid sermon, Al Shaikh Sultan Al Marzouqi said tat this day is a festivity for sacrifice to come closer to Allah to attain forgiveness.
He wished well to the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
After the prayer, Shaikh Saud exchanged Eid greetings with Shaikhs, senior officials and worshipers.
Ras Al Khaimah
While in Ras Al Khaimah, His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, performed Eid prayer at the Grand Eid Mussala in Al Khuzam, RAK.
Shaikh Omer bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Shaikh Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, other Shaikhs, senior officials and representatives of Arab and Muslim communities, also performed the prayer along with the RAK Ruler.
Al Shaikh Ahmed Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Ras Al Khaimah Foundation for The Holy Quran and Its Sciences, said in the Eid sermon that it is the day of sacrifice and joy, as well as worship. He recounted the virtues of Eid Al Adha.
