The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority is all set to develop a number of roads in the Eastern and Central regions of the emirate against Dh150 million.
The key roads, extending over 66km, will be developed in 18 areas, according to Yusuf Saleh Al Suwaihi, Chairman of RTA Sharjah, on Sunday morning.
"The new internal roads, to extend over 66km, will be developed at the cities of Al Dhaid, Al Hamriya, Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Diba Al Hisn."

Four districts of Al Dhaid city will get internal roads
In Kalba city, internal roads will be built at the Qalah, Block-16, Block-19, and Al Saf areas
Khor Fakkan city will get internal roads at Al Lualueya, Al Yarmook, and Al Qadisiya
Other roads will be built at Diba Al Hisn city, including Al Doob, Al Mahleb, Al Seeh and Al Shamali.
The project, also meant to enhance public safety and security, is in line with the directions of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, he added.
"The new roads will boost the capacity of the roads of the emirate and better connect all regions and districts of the emirate, and connect them with the federal roads in the country."
Shaikha Al Zuwain, manager of roads procurement department, said all the new roads will be paved as per the latest international standards.
"All parking spaces opposite residents' houses and nearby mosques will be paved with interlock tiles."
