A courier and cargo provider to the Philippines has partnered with the Philippine Consulate-General in Dubai to set up a drop box called 'Kabayan Corner' at the smart bus shelters in Dubai. This will allow Filipinos to reach out to the Philippine Consulate-General with ease and convenience.

Kabayan Corners set up at these shelters:
> Satwa
> Mankhool
> Baniyas
> Bur Dubai
> Al Rigga
The initiative with LBC Express provides the 450,000-strong Filipino community in Dubai and the Northern Emirates an opportunity to direct their concerns to Philippine Consul-General Paul Raymund Cortes through letters or e-mails. Letters dropped in these boxes at the bus shelters and LBC branches will be delivered to the Philippine Consulate-General every week.
The initiative also extends legal aid through Gulf Law's Atty. Barney Almazar Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) guide which can be accessed through a tablet stationed at the LBC kiosks and branches. Mark Agalo-os, vice-president for Middle East at LBC Express, said: "We are pleased to partner with the Philippine Consulate-General and Gulf Law in extending support to the UAE-based Filipinos with the launch of the 'Kabayan Corner' initiative. This empowers the OFWs to direct their concerns and requests to the government officials. We are proud to be part of this initiative."
Paul Raymund Cortes said: "Kabayan Corner is a unique programme that offers a new mode of communication for our Filipino constituents to easily reach us. We are always in the forefront of assisting our fellow countrymen and believe in such initiatives that will help us connect with them."
The Kabayan Corner can be found at smart shelters frequented by Filipinos.
Rohit Dalmia, managing director at Al Shamil Foodstuff Trading, the operator of smart shelters, said: "Smart Shelter's goal is to make daily chores and activities more convenient via converted bus shelters that offer a range of services, including free WiFi, mobile charging and mini convenience stores. The Kabayan Corner is a unique concept and will allow tens of thousands of people on their daily commute to drop into a smart shelter and send their messages to the Philippine Consulate-General."
The LBC has commenced services at the smart shelters located at Satwa, Mankhool, Baniyas, Bur Dubai and Al Rigga. This gives convenience to Filipinos through improved accessibility for cargo and courier services.
