Dar Al Ber Society, a top charity organisation in Dubai, has spent over Dh11.35million to help low income families in the first quarter of the year.
The beneficiaries - 38 different nationalities including the UAE nationals - have received financial help, foodstuff, and other in kind on a monthly basis.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, said up to 2,508 families received regular financial assistance over the period from January 1 to March 31.
"Up to 4,747 poor and low-income families received foodstuff and in-kind allowances over the same three months," he said.
"The beneficiaries originally came from 38 different nationalities, spanning locals, Arabs, Asians, and Africans."
Bin Zayed said Dar Al Ber Society spares no effort to help anyone in need for help across the country and abroad, and try hard to meet the assistance applications received on a daily basis.
The UAE prudent leadership, people, and officials have set an exemplary model in supporting charity entities in the country and collaborating with strategic partners for the benefit of low-income people, he added.
"Such endless contribution, which has been heightened with the help of UAE philanthropists, gives a boost to the charitable and humanitarian works of the Dar Al Ber Society locally and across the globe."
