150,000 flocked to parks during Eid

Around 150,000 people braved t he heat and humidity to visit Dubai parks to celebrate Eid Al Fitr holidays, the Dubai Municipality has said.
According to figures provided by the Public Parks and Horticulture Department, the main parks in the city - Zabeel, Mamzar, Safa, Khawaneej, Mushrif and Creek parks - had a footfall of 95, 587 on the first three days of Eid.
Some 27,500 people visited the residential parks in the emirate. Another 25,000 visitors spent Eid holidays at the pond parks.
The Dubai Zoo in Jumeirah also witnessed a footfall of 15,758 visitors during the first three days of Eid.
The Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department Mohammed AbdulRahman Al Awadi said a range of attractive activities specially designed for Eid holidays were conducted in all major parks.
"It is great that so many thousands of people flocked to our parks despite the hot and humid weather conditions over the weekend," he told Khaleej Times.
