Three Emirati nationals died in a horrific crash in Fujairah's Khor Fakkan on Friday due to bad weather.
Sharjah Police told Khaleej Times that the accident took place in Khor Fakkan's Al Harrai area where a car crashed into an electric pole.
According to officials, the accident occurred due to overspeeding and strong winds, causing the car to veer off its lane and crash into an electric pole.
"Due to slippery road, the driver lost control over the wheel causing the car to veer off the road and crash into a lighting pole."
Police immediately dispatched a team of traffic experts, a rescue team and civil defence officials after the accident was reported at 10:30 am.
The three young men - aged between 15 to 20 years old - were already dead.
They have been identified as Abdul Aziz Rashid Al Naqbi, Soud Al Naqbi, and Khalifah Al Naqbi.
The police shifted the body to the morgue in Khor Fakkan hospital to be prepared for the funeral, which will take place after Magrib prayer at Omar bin Khatab mosque.
They will be buried in Al Garb graveyard in Al Managir area.
Thunderstorms lashed UAE last Thursday night, continuing into Friday morning.
Ethihad Airways flights were affected due to bad weather.
Sharjah Police have urged motorists to drive with caution during rainy and windy weather to avoid accidents.
