A kitten that got stuck in highway traffic in Abu Dhabi was rescued by Civil Defense teams.
A video capturing the moment went viral on social media, including Instagram, which has so far gained thousands of views.
The 44-second video shows four firefighters walking to the stranded kitten, before gently picking it up and running back to their vehicles. Three firefighter trucks were used to block the road.
Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Ansari, Director General of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi, said the operations room received a report on Thursday morning claiming that a cat was stranded near the  Sheikh Zayed Street.

"The cat was unable to get-off the street because of the traffic congestion."
Colonel Ansari pointed out that the Civil Defense and the traffic patrols, were eventually able to stop the street traffic, while maintaining the safety on the roads and rescued the frightened kitten, later on.
The Civil Defense said that the teams deal with similar incidents continuously in the UAE, and take both humanitarian and animal welfare seriously.
