Commuters faced delays this morning as the weather had an adverse effect on driving conditions in UAE.
Motorists coming in from Karama towards the Dubai World Trade Centre face delays in the morning. To ease traffic bottlenecks in Dubai, the main bridge on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street near Karama would be opened in January. (Read full report here)

Sharjah drivers heading to Dubai should expect delays on Sheikh Zayed Road's E11 - from Al Nahda street towards Dubai. Delays were also expected on E311 road towards Muhaisnah.
 

Motorists are advised to drive safely and take alternative routes wherever possible.
And as heavy rains lashed many parts of the UAE, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has urged all drivers to follow the safety guidelines across the country during changing weather conditions.

On Sunday, Dubai Police recorded 581 traffic accidents in the last 24 hours caused by drivers who did not abide by safety measures during rain and changing weather conditions. The police received 12,753 SOS calls during this period.
