His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday ordered the release of 625 prisoners from Dubai's prisons on the occasion of the 47th UAE National Day.

The announcement comes a day after The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has ordered the release of 785 prisoners.

The release of prisoners, and the settlement of their debts and fines, reflects the President's keenness to grant them another chance for a new life and to relieve their families hardships.

The UAE will be celebrating its 47th National Day on December 2.

A two-day holiday has been announced in the country for both the public and private sectors.
