Dubai International airport is the world's busiest by international traffic. It has retained the crown for the second consecutive year in 2015, after overtaking London's Heathrow airport in 2014 to become the world's busiest airport.

Passenger traffic on the rise  Dubai airport witnessed a continued an upward trend in passenger traffic in July this year with the airport welcoming 7.6 million customers, according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. In July 2016 passenger numbers at the airport rose 14 per cent to 7,616,792 compared to 6,682,676 in July 2015, the airport said in a monthly update.
