Dubai International airport is the world's busiest by international traffic. It has retained the crown for the second consecutive year in 2015, after overtaking London's Heathrow airport in 2014 to become the world's busiest airport.
The airport is flanked by 100 airlines that connect it to 240 destinations around the world making Dubai a preferred choice for layovers. Not only is Dubai strategically located on the global map but it also gives transit passengers the opportunity to explore the city, quite popular as a heaven for tourists. From the vast deserts to the deep seas and everything else in between, Dubai offers a plethora of choices.

 Passenger traffic on the rise 
Dubai airport witnessed a continued an upward trend in passenger traffic in July this year with the airport welcoming 7.6 million customers, according to the monthly traffic report issued by operator Dubai Airports. In July 2016 passenger numbers at the airport rose 14 per cent to 7,616,792 compared to 6,682,676 in July 2015, the airport said in a monthly update.
