Dubai Tourism successfully completed a series of four international trade familiarisation (FAM) trips during November from key markets including China, Germany and the US.
With two more planned at the start of December from central-Europe and France, the FAM trips look to bolster Dubai's position as the destination of choice for travellers in 2016. Welcoming travel delegates, including media and leisure operators from key markets, Dubai Tourism's aim is to highlight the key attractions and opportunities for business and leisure travellers as it sets its sights on increased visitor numbers in 2016.
"As we continue to welcome more and more travel industry leaders from around the world, we aim to encourage the world to visit us and explore the many exciting wonders that Dubai has to offer," Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said.
"We continue to focus our efforts across a range of markets including Europe, the USA, China and Malaysia with a string of mega FAM trips focusing on increasing awareness of the diversity of Dubai's touristic offerings. From the incredible luxury experiences, to the fun family attractions and the year-round cultural highlights, we endeavour to emphasise the multifaceted appeal of Dubai around the world as we set our sights on continued growth throughout 2016," he said.
With airlines such as flydubai offering increasingly competitive rates to travellers from central-Europe, Dubai Tourism is set to welcome 100 travel agents and 13 media from Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic during December 5-9, and over 200 travel delegates from France during December 9-13 to highlight the luxury and family friendly elements of Dubai, including Downtown Dubai and key shopping malls - Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. With the aim of diversifying Dubai's offerings, a focus is also placed on creating awareness of Dubai's upcoming 'destination' theme parks. Set to open in 2016, IMG World Of Adventures, Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Bollywood Parks will all be unique to the region, with Bollywood Parks going one step further by being the first of its kind in the world.
